Purple Ear is a cross-disciplinary narrative project which combines spoken word with electro-acoustic soundscapes. Using traditional and contemporary forms of expression it is as much rooted in myth as it is in modern experimental sound and electronics. The original stories draw from magic realism and poetry, while the sounds are formed from a blend of sampling manipulation, field recordings, acoustic and electronic instruments. The project began in 2020 as a collaboration between writer Dominic Walker and musician/sound artist Caleb Watson.
